WOW VOUCHERS
These
are an opportunity for you to share with us exciting and new developments that
your child makes with you at home in your time.
For
example,
1.
talking through their experiences, what they have
done throughout the morning, and how they felt about it, noting differences in
their surroundings or routine, not just in playgroup but both with and without
your presence? Ie, we walked up the hill and I saw a doggy, it was a big dog.
2.
Their
enjoyment of books/rhymes, do they have favourites? Do they join in with you
and repeat main phrases? Sing songs to you, maybe incy wincy spider, do they do
it with actions?
3.
Do they enjoy drawing with you and describe their
intentions? Their scribble (to you) is a
dinosaur with sharp teeth or select particular colours?
4.
Do they enjoy counting individual objects one at a
time, without reciting the numbers straight off?
5.
Can they name shapes and use them to create
pictures, models or sort and categories and problems solve? When building a tower select bricks of the
same shape and size, and use circles for the wheels and rectangles for the body
of a car etc?
6.
Co-ordinate their movements and develop more complex
movements ie, hand/eye co-ordination, jumping, hopping, cycling or swimming?
7.
Explore their imagination and reflect this in their
play and art work, imitate adults
actions and make believe in pretend play using props to support them. Pretend to make a cup of tea using a tea set,
play mums and dads with other children or drive a car or be a superhero!
While
your child is at playgroup we assess your child on their development and
achievements according to the EYFS, government curriculum for under 5’s. The Wow vouchers are more evidence of your
child’s progression and we value your input.
They will often do things at home that they will not do at playgroup and
vice versa and so your input is vital to their assessment process.
